a weekend in keystone

this past weekend, aric and i went to keystone to get some relaxation and ski. unfortunately, i was sick the entire time! not okay, but i still had a blast. saturday we skied and then went out to dinner, where i had some fabulous trout! sunday morning we skied again - perfect conditions and nobody on the runs. we headed into town that afternoon for some lunch and shopping around.

sunday night i was too sick to do anything, so we ordered a pizza, watched the grammy's and hung out at the outdoor hot tub on the top floor of our hotel, with gorgeous views of the mountain and night time skiers. monday morning {valentine's day}, we hit the slopes again! best skiing we've done all year i think! here are some snapshots from this weekend...

super bowl sunday!

sunday evening, i watched about 2 minutes of the actual football game! i made dinner, we watched the half time show, then it was work work work on the many project m.press has going on right now! but i did not mind, as i could care less about the 2 teams in this year's game. what i was most excited about was the glee episode after! yay for glee being back!

first time making wontons! yum - so good and so easy! we followed this recipe from cooks.com, but my grocery store was out of green onions, and we didn't want crab, so we just made a cream cheese + jalapeno mix! delicious!

a new find in the highlands

sunday morning, i went with aunt b + uncle jeff to brunch over on the east part of the highlands! it's called the squeaky bean! it was soooooo delicious and i'm already craving it again!

{poached eggs, prosciutto, hollandaise, brioche toast with a side of bacon}

jeff had the pigs in a blanket

{shirred eggs, milk braised pork belly hash, house-made crepe, frisee, mustard vinaigrette, cherry gastrique}

and i opted for lunch - the stan-which aka a meatloaf sandwich with a side of veggie soup

{agrodolce meatloaf, sweet potato hash, ricotta salata, frisee}

delicioso! can't wait to go back!

friday night in wash park

friday night, aric and i hung out with our friends, jon + jillian, who just recently moved to the super cute neighborhood, wash park. they have a bloodhound named moose, so we took fin + kaia over there for them to meet! it was a success. they played and played and played! all day saturday, the girls were passed out! it was hilarious!
