our new home

finally...i have some photos of our new place!!

please bare with me, i took a lot. and please note that we haven't begun to really decorate. this is just from the past couple of days!

ENTRY

aric painted a table a metallic silver - i love it! now i just need a different color candle and figure out what to put in the bottom of the open shelf.

GUEST ROOM

the guest room is the first room on the left! new bedding = cari happy! are you shocked with the bedding we chose :) haha. i love this room, but with the windows shaped like they are, it was hard to put the bed in another direction.

right now, this is the room where we're putting stuff we have no idea to do with yet. however, remember this dresser? well it's now a lovely navy blue with silver knobs! i love it so much more now. thanks to aunt b who handed it down to me a couple of years ago!

what happens when you can't find nice looking shams by themselves? buy cute pillow cases - hint the gray patterned cases.

oh man has this $8 table been through a lot. i got this in college when i was in need of a nightstand. the only color we had at the house was yellow, so that was it's first color. then it was the black nightstand turned coffee table at our old house. NOW, it's a gorgeous glossy gray and I LOVE IT. especially next to the bed. please excuse the sad little lamp on it.

GUEST BATH

yes you saw right, a FULL GUEST BATH! so excited about that! not excited about the weird handlebar looking shelf above the toilet, but you can't have everything now can you?

LIVING ROOM

above is our color board for the living room. we haven't even begun to do anything about it yet, but though i would post to show our inspiration.

no, our armoire wouldn't fit in here so we had to put the TV in the awkward nook. bless aric's heart for putting together the sound system, dvr, dvd and wii behind it with no cords showing {at least in this photo}. he knows my hate for tangled cords :)

yes, all of our picture frames and knick knacks are hanging out on the floor. we haven't had time to put them up yet.

more frames, BUT DID YOU SEE OUR FIREPLACE???? woohoo! can't wait to use that on a chilly colorado winter night.

okay, we have 2 projects. what to put above the tv in the random shelf, and what to put above the fireplace. any ideas? we might be creating some art...

my office area! love my 3 windows and i get to see downtown denver as well watch random people walk down the street! i think it's time for new knobs looking at this picture....

PATIO

our cute little patio. we had to buy a gas grill (rats!), because they wouldn't let us have our charcoal one. it is pretty cute though and we've used it every night since we've been here!

i can't tell you how big our room is, you'll have to see it in person. but it fits 2 dressers and our huge armoire. craziness.

CLOSET

you have no idea how small closets are in old denver houses and how for the past 2 years, i've had to cram my clothes, so my heart stopped when i saw this! a freaking walk in closet. i can actually walk in and see ALL OF MY CLOTHES! words cannot describe how happy this makes me feel! fin's bed even fits in it. it's her favorite spot in the house. good girl!

BATHROOM

i am obsessed with our bathroom. it is HUGE. aric totally downplayed how amazing it was {if you didn't know, i never saw the inside of this place until the day we moved in. he did good}.

i kinda took over these shelves for my jewelry! oops!

i need some more storage for all my stuff though...

we have OUR OWN SINKS! and our own drawers! yay!

our shower is really cool because it's kinda raised up from the floor!

yup, our toilet has it's own HUGE ROOM!

kaia is no help, but she sure is cute :)
